The Eighth Air Force was activated during World War II at Hunter Army Airfield as part of the Army’s Air Corps.
While at the museum, check out their extensive art collection in the Colonial Art Gallery as well as throughout the museum. The museum also features an internationally-recognized, extensive library and archives as well as the Roger A. Freeman Eighth Air Force Research Center.
